I see in forums of article websites that many are struggling to use articles for SEO purposes and failing at an alarming rate. The solution are simple to correct the problems that hinder your sites climb to the top 10. If you understand what the search engines are looking for.

The first thing we must clear up is a few misconceptions about articles and their use and value. The first in this category is that links from the article directories do help you climb the search engines. You will understand this more as we cover the 3 secrets. The second is that you only need to submit to a few of the top directories.

The more exposure the better, chances are if you get included in 200 directories that you may get over 200 links just from the directories and that does not count the re-publishers of your articles. Remember, you are playing a numbers game. And that can increase web site traffic also

Now the 3 secrets. The first secret is to get at least one of your keywords in the title of your article. There is a reason for this.

The title of a page is a major factor in the search engines determining the value of the links to other sites on the page. What ever your title of the article is will likely be the title of the page. Go to goarticles or ezinearticles and click any article and the title of the article is also the title of the page. This puts your keywords in the title of the page.

Secret 2 is keywords in the content of the article. Try to get at least a 3 percent density of your keywords or phrase in the content.

This is SEO at its best because you have absolute control of the content of the article and can help to control the value of the links.

Do not buy into all of the voodoo that articles on article sites will not help with SEO. Each page is valued by the same factors as any other page on any site.

So my point is that your link needs to come from a relevant page, not a relevant site, and if you control the relevance you control the power of the link to some extent.

Secret 3 is to make sure that you have the proper anchor text in your resources box. This is the place where you blow your own whistle. Make sure that the link is html and the clickable part is one of the phrases that you are targeting. If you want to rank for frog legs, then the clickable text needs to be frog legs.

Now also consider that if you get accepted into 200 directories the chances are that you will get re-published. This is nothing more than a numbers game. The more time you put yourself in front of people the more potential you have to gain Web Traffic to your site and also you get a diversity of different IP addresses linking to your site.

Now lets look a few more bonus secrets and the additional benefits of articles and SEO. Lets look at the power of links.

Links values are calculated by the page that the link is on (notice I did not say the site?) The reason I say this is because each page is its own entity in the search engines. This can be proven several ways.The first way is page rank, page rank is assigned to each page of a website, not one pr for the whole site. I have seen sites with pr ranging from pr 10 to pr0.

Each page has its own value. The second example is you can have a site with 400 pages and have just 1 or anywhere from 1 to 400 pages indexed, if they were all counted collectively the whole site would be indexed at once.

There are over 100 factors that determine the value of any given link. Some of the factors include pr of the page, if your keywords are in the title and content, position of the link on the page, how many outbound links the page has and on and on.

The reason articles are so powerful is because you are creating a related page by controlling the title and content of the article you are writing.

You should be able to get 1 or more of your keywords in the title, and I am sure you can get at least one entire phrase in the content. This makes the page where your article is published relevant to your site because it has your keywords all over it.

The next advantage is that most articles site on directories for over 18 months and your article starts as a pr0 page, this should increase over time and Google updates. People will link to it, or might even publish it on their pr 5 site, now your links get better with time.

How Many Articles Do You Need To Get Rankings?

A fairly popular way to go about link building for a site is to publish articles. This raises the question of how many articles one needs to publish to see results?

I hate articles that offer the answer to a major question, but do not actually provide it. To avoid being hypocritical, at least on this issue, I will tell you the answer. 91. You need 91 articles. No more. No less.

If you believe that, I have a 1994 pristine PC I want to sell you. Rare and rarely used!

The simple fact is there is no definitive way to know how many articles you need to publish. The problem, of course, is there is no real way to tell how many links a particular article will produce. It may be one or it may be 200. It just depends. Not the answer you were looking for, eh? Sorry about that. There is, however, a particular approach you can take that will make your article publishing efforts work efficiently.

If you are starting a new site, you should publish as many articles as you can as quickly as you can. I usually try to punch out a minimum of 50 the first month or two. The reason you should do this is twofold. First, it generates links to your site and gets the attention of the search engine spiders which will lead to crawls of your site. Second, the links you generate will begin to age like fine wine. The older your links, the better in my opinion.

When opportunity presents itself, I snap up older sites that are for sale as fast as possible. The older the better as far as I am concerned so long as they have even a nominal number of links. The reason is the older a site is, the more valuable the links in the ranking evaluation. Obviously, that is a very general statement, but sites tend to age well when it comes to moving up in the rankings.

So, should you just blow out articles continuously to build links for a site? Yes and no. After the third or fourth month, I usually slow down. Google is known to whack sites that pick up links to quickly. What it does not penalize, however, are such sites if the links are generated to internal pages. If you are constantly adding content, and you should be, you can write articles promoting the new pages as quickly as you want.

Okay, all of that is great, but you want to know some hard facts. Across the various sites I work on, I have found it takes 100 to 200 articles to get the rankings I want. Some sites are as low as 30, but this has been my general experience. I should note that the keywords the rankings are being obtained for are extremely competitive and are often single words instead of phrases. Hey, why not go big?

You have probably seen some old movies where some unruly teenager carried on his shoulders one the first “portable” audio players-a blaring cassette-tape-playing two-speaker monster (if you’re old enough, you may even have done this yourself). But the first truly portable audio player was the cassette-tape based Sony Walkman. That was extremely revolutionary in its time. The subsequent introduction of audio CDs and CD-based walkmans marked the start of the digital music age.

Losing Money In Real Estate - A True Story

What if you were able to buy a decent two bedroom home for about $30,000, fix it up a little and put it on the market for $80,000? Do you think you could make some money that way? This is the story of a man who lost it all that way, followed by a few lessons to be learned from his sad tale.

The story takes place in 2002, in a mountain town in Montana, where the last of the good jobs had left town twenty-two years earlier when the copper smelter closed. It is a beautiful town, but the resulting economic decline caused a population decline of more than 30%, down to about 7,000 or 8,000 people. My wife and I bought a great little house there for $17,500, so home prices had obviously tumbled along with the population.

A neighbor, at eighty-years-old, decided to become a real estate investor. He bought the house next to us for around $30,000, and borrowed more from the bank to fix the place up. Given the price of our own home and the fact that this other house wasn’t nearly as nice, I wondered if he had overpaid. He seemed sure that he had a good deal, though and could make some money.

As the weeks went by, he did get the place looking better. He put in an incredible fireplace, and new carpeting. The electricians worked on the old wiring on and off for a long time, always finding something else that needed to be done, and then taking their time doing it. The old guy was paying by the hour, with no contract, of course. The heating system needed replacing, at which point our neighbor mentioned, “I didn’t know the house had so many problems.” At some point his enthusiasm started to fail.

His bank account started to fail too. Eventually he admitted to me that he had over $65,000 into the place, but still seemed certain he could sell the home for $80,000. I politely nodded. It was too late to say anything anyhow. He didn’t even have money to fix up the rusty iron fence around the house. In fact, from the outside, the appearance had hardly changed at all, since all his money went into the interior.

The sign went up, though I am not sure why the real estate agent wanted such a listing. Perhaps it was with the hope that he would maintain the listing when the bank took the house and dropped the price. In the end, that is exactly what happened. “I gave the house back to the bank,” the old guy told me one day.

A Few Real Estate Lessons

I like this story because my old neighbor did so many things wrong. This makes it a great teaching story. Often real estate success consists as much in avoiding common mistakes as knowing intricate techniques. Here, then are some of the mistakes he made.

1. He had no plan. He had only a vague idea about what he would do and how much the home would sell for.

2. He had no idea of how to value a house. If he had compared the home to recent sales (like our $17,500 purchase next door) he would have realized that the most he would get for the home was probably around $30,000, if that.

3. He had no concept of his market. This was a two bedroom starter home. Buyers for these homes are not looking for a fancy fireplace.

4. He had no contracts or firm quotes from contractors. He let them find as much as they wanted to do and charge him by the hour.

5. He didn’t get an inspection. Had he gotten the home inspected, he might have had some idea of how many problems it had, and how much it would take to correct them.

6. He didn’t understand the concept of return on investment. Even if buyers liked the fireplace and other features he put into the home, these features probably increased the value less than what they cost.

7. He didn’t have enough money or financing lined up. This was a fortunate mistake, perhaps. Since the project was doomed to fail, it may have been good that he ran out of money.

Why not learn from the mistakes of others? As a side note, we selectively put $1,900 into our home there for a total investment (with purchase price and closing costs) of $19,800, and sold it for $28,000 four months after we bought it. We might have been lucky, but we also avoided some common real estate investing mistakes.

How And When To Teach Your Kids About Money

As a child, money seems to somehow “grow on trees” as mum and dad always appear to have money to buy things.

Even though this is clearly not the case, it’s unfortunately the perception of children who live in a very consumer oriented world.

Rather than letting your child grow up thinking that money comes easily, you need to institute some form of education that teaches them how to understand and use money wisely.

Teach them young and they will carry forward that knowledge and live a better financial life. Here’s a few tips how :

From ages 3 - 7

1. Show them the value of money by explaining what $2 can and can’t buy. It may be an idea to do this whilst walking down the super market aisle or toy aisle (if you are game!).

2. Let them watch you pay for things. You may even start by letting them hand over the cash or pressing the OK button on the ATM.

3. Do not give them notes. Pay their pocket money in coins as your children need to understand how to allocate their money.

4. Show them how to visualise their goals. Get them to draw what they want to save up for. Keep the goals realistic otherwise they will very quickly lose interest.

What they learn -

? Different things have different values.
? Money simply doesn’t grow on trees and that you have to work for your money.
? You have to allocate your money for different things

From ages 7 - 12

1. Encourage them to participate in the school banking programme. This will give them a sense of regular commitment to savings.

2. Get them interested in looking at their bank statements and following how much money they are saving. This will get them used to scanning banking paperwork.

3. Get them to start thinking of a long term saving goal and work out how long it will take them to reach that goal.

4. Give them a combination of notes and coins for their pocket money. This will really strengthen their allocation abilities and efficient usage of spare change.

5. Start showing them the family bills and explain positively that the bills have to be paid to keep the family going.

What they will learn -
? Saving is a planned activity and something that needs a bit of thought rather that just putting away what’s left over.
? The value of small change
? It takes a fair bit of money and good money management skills to keep a roof over their head.

For Teenagers

1. Encourage them to set up their own bank account and use internet banking.

2. Direct debit their pocket money into their account. This will get them used to dealing with intangible payments, and that electronic money is not just a set of numbers.

3. Make them responsible for their own bills such as mobiles. This is a very quick way to teach them how to spend wisely.

4. Try not to lend money to them for purchases that are of an extravagant nature. If they really want it, encourage them to get a part time job to save up enough. If you do loan money to them, do so only on the grounds that you will reduce the amount of their pocket money until the loan is paid.

5. Charge them board if they have a part time job - this will start getting them into the habit of paying their way for things they take for granted - like food and shelter!!

6. Introduce them to the concept of return on investment. Show them the value of putting some of their money into high interest savings accounts or even into managed investments.

7. Highlight the fact that if they start now they will be so much better off down the track.

What they learn -

? Not only will they learn more modern and more efficient banking techniques they will also learn how to curb their wants, or find ways to earn rather than going into debt for something that is not totally necessary.

Google adwords concept is easy. You create ads that Google shows alongside a keyword search. You give Google keywords that you want to be associated with your product. For example, you sell Disney T-shirts, you might want your ad to show up when people do a search for Disney. We’ve all seen these ads that appear to the right of a google search, called sponsored links. These are paid advertisements.

When you create an adwords ad you chose keywords for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for each click. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad and visits your website.

Now that you know adwords is and excellent way to bring in revenue you need to determine how much you are willing to pay per click (PPC). You can figure this using the following simple formula: Divide your monthly visitors by your monthly sales, then convert that into a percentage by multiplying by 100. Say in a month you get 2000 visitors and sell 500 products each with a gross profit of $50.00. Your conversion ratio would be 2.5%. This means that 2.5% of every 100 people buy your product. Calculate your gross profit for every 100 visitors, 50 X 2.5%=$125.00. In this example you could afford to pay up to $1.25 for a visitor. This is a high amount and you would never have to pay that much.

Your keyword selection is the most important element when using adwords. These are the words when searched for will trigger the appearance of your ad in the search results. Choose these words while thinking what you would search for if you wanted a certain product. Use different spelling variations and plurals of your keywords to get the best results.

This became the central warehouse of the operating system and any changed in the system was recorded in the registry. The Registry would grow with this added information and every time the operating system requested some information the registry would begin searching the entire system registry from the beginning. This would take a very long time to locate the information needed by the operating system. Cleaning the registry with registry cleaning software such as the PC registry cleaner or many of the free registry cleaner software removes this redundant information from the registry and defragments the registry. This speeds up the system a great deal.
